Sheffield MOT Booking
Our system is very reliable but in the highly unlikely case of a problem which is beyond our control (ie: staff illness, technical failures etc), we will do everything in our power to contact you to arrange an alternative. Please give reasonable notice if you wish to cancel a Sheffield MOT booking. We reserve the right to make a charge if the notice of cancellation is very short and we are unable to re-sell the space.
Please note that there will be a additional charge for any Vehicle that requires special oil, fuel filter, spark plugs, etc during any selected service. If you have any questions regarding this, do not hesitate to give us a call.
Why is an MOT test important?
The MOT (Ministry Of Transport) test is required by law and is an examination for all vehicles over three years to have a test every 12 months. This applies to cars, motorcycles, goods vehicles, as well as many more vehicle types. Looking after your vehicle will then make an MOT a breeze.
The test itself includes checks on the brakes, suspension, lights, bodywork and much more.
A valid MOT certificate is required to ensure your vehicle is legally roadworthy, as well as being able to tax your vehicle. Over 20,000 local car garages throughout Great Britain are authorised to perform and validate MOT tests.
You should NOT drive your vehicle if your MOT has expired but have not yet made an MOT booking. Those who ignore this rule will face prosecution, as well as a fine of a maximum of £1000. The only exception is if you’re driving the car to the garage for an appointment you have already made an MOT booking for. Make sure you’ve confirmed your appointment with the garage, just in case you do get stopped on the way.
Please note that if you are unsure as to whether your vehicle or another vehicle is due an MOT test, you can find out by entering your vehicle registration on the Government website and searching for it on the site.
